THE first ever television advert promoting tourism on Exmoor is dividing opinion.
It features an actor playing a character who lives in the area giving his views on Exmoor.
It shows some beauty spots in the national park, such as the Valley of Rocks and Tarr Steps are featured, as well as activities and attractions including pony trekking, mountain biking and heritage railways.
Dan James of Exmoor National Park Authority said: “In the past TV advertising has only been available to larger destinations but with the increase in digital channels more flexible opportunities have become available and working together through the Exmoor Tourism Partnership we were keen to test this area.
“It was a challenge to showcase Exmoor in just 30 seconds in a way that would capture people's imagination, but we hope that the humorous approach taken in the advert will do the trick.”
Two million viewers could see it on channels including Yesterday, Blighty and the Food and Drink network, where it will be aired well into September.
