FOOTBALLERS at Blackbrook Pavilion took part in a marathon match to help a baby girl with one of the world’s rarest conditions get more sleep.

They raised £160 for RhizoKids UK to buy temperature control blankets for youngsters with a life-limiting form of dwarfism.

The four-team event was organised by Craig Hooper, whose ten-month-old daughter, Sophie, has rhizomeic chondrodysplasia punctata.

Craig, who is separated from Sophie’s mum, Stephanie Baker, is planning a bigger football tournament next year and is running the Taunton Half-Marathon in April in aid of RhizoKids UK.
