Nominate your weed hotspots in Taunton
12:00pm Tuesday 9th October 2012 in News By Andrew McGill
SHOPPERS in Taunton have been kicking up a stink over the amount of weeds currently poking up around the town centre.
Our photographer captured these examples of unsightly weeds in the town - but we want to hear your eyesore sites.
Leave your suggestions using the form below.

Either u r a councillor or support them. As for the Big Society - thats a load of crock, when we are getting ripped of by a government that is so blinkered and big headed - that they will not even listen to the IMF.
Not sure where you are - a few weeds - the whole town is a disgrace - I would how ever suggest - that those on benefits, are made to go and do so weeding - why should they stay in bed and be paid?

I am however, quite disappointed in my editor for including this hard-left report in one of my newspapers. I didn't buy it so that my newspapers so that they could be used as platforms for the Plebs to provide their irrelevant comments...What do you think this is, some kind of democracy? Mwhoaaahahaahaaahaa!
We are continuing to amass £billions at your expense whilst continuing to get away with our biggest scam yet...hahah...we claim that the country has no money and that you have to suffer another ten years or more of austerity as a cosequence while we continue to trouser billions in corporate profits!! mWOHAHAHA.. And you dirty oiks can't do anything about this because we own the the three main political parties as well!
Absolutely brilliantly hillarious!!!
My billionaire friends and I, are in complete control...so don't you forget it!!

I've sacked my PA for making all the above spelling and typo mistakes, as they make a complete mockery of my Eton education!

The same with 'council' grass - pop over it with the lawnmower at the same time as doing your own lawn.
As others have said - if everyone pitches in a helps out just a little, then council tax stays frozen which can only be a good thing for those of us who work.
I also love the idea of those with community punishments picking the weeds etc.

I've said it before - when they send a man with a barrow round (or a man with a machine) to sweep up litter, why on earth can't they also be issued with a back-pack week killer spray gun?
Or is it still 'one man, one job'?
And as for community service 'customers' being utilised to clear the streets - why on earth not? Excellent idea....it's a punishment service, not a 'have a nice day' outing.

I've just realised what a silly suggestion that is! LOL
That barrow person has a designated job title. They'd have to think up a whole new title for someone who was carrying out weed killing too....and that would require much expensive thinking from a team of specialists in the art of double-talk.
That same team (or most probably an entirely new team) would also have to come up with a design for suitable multipurpose clothing - which would then have to be made available in a multitude of sizes and be suitable for male or female wear - even if no females ever did the job.
The road sweeping, weed killing persons (hereinafter called operatives), would also have to taught in the art of multitasking by another team of specialists - and they'd also have to undergo extensive H & S training. All of which would require said operatives being sent away for week-long residential courses at some far-flung location (e.g. Spain or Barbados or somewhere warm and sunny), together with a selection of management toadies who qualify for a free holiday.
Needless to say, their litter-collecting vehicles wouldn't be suitable to carry both rubbish and weedkilling equipment and would have to be redesigned or replaced - a job that would take so long to sort out that the recession would be over before new vehicles were ready.

So all in all, that idea is a non-starter - procrastination and red tape being the winners instead.
Sorry about misleading you all.....

I HAVE NOTICED AT THE TURNING TO STATION APPROACH COMING FROM THE TOWN THAT THERE ARE TREES COVERING THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS, TO GO STRAIGHT ON, IF THAT IS NOT DANGEROUS WHAT IS.

DLO turn up twice a year chop it to death and blow cuttings in the drains so when it rains they wash down the drains causing further blockages and flooding. Can you imagine if I dumped my grass cutting it the surface water drains outside deane house what the reaction would be.

So basically Taunton and what about the verges, the roads are getting thinner, while the edges are spreading.
TBC and SCC have spent too much money on Ipads and the lawn by the bus station.
Hope they remember things when its election time.
