YOUNG people in the town are to benefit from a revamped cafe and youth service designed to keep them entertained and out of trouble.

10 Communities Youth (10CY) and In the Mix Project have come together to set up a platform for youngsters keen to get into sports, media and other things.

Cafe Random will re-open on October 31 for a spooky Hallowe’en event aimed at people aged from 11. The venue should eventually offer weekly sessions.

Eddie Gaines, chairman of 10CY, said: “This is a great new service for the young people of the area and we value the dedication and commitment of the team to ensure that youth work continues in the future.

“We are looking for community support and sponsorship from local business to support the funding of youth work in the area and also aim to run fundraising events to increase funding.”
