Families describe fear after Wellington stabbing
TERRIFIED families have spoken of their horror after a stabbing next to a children’s play area.
A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the late-night incident left a man in Taunton’s Musgrove Park Hospital with a stab wound to his neck.
Sally Dunkley lives yards from the scene of the incident, which happened at 4am on Saturday and centred round a caravan in a layby in Howard Road, Wellington.
She said: “My kids saw the blood on the road. It was very frightening and we locked the door.
“They use the play area, but I wouldn’t let them there after dark – it’s a shock.”
Police said the incident began when a woman received a head injury as a window of the caravan was smashed.
