National Women’s Register Group
THE January meeting of the National Women’s Register Group, Taunton (NWR), got the year off to a great start with a lively discussion on ‘If you could personally witness an event in history what would it be?’
Diverse events were chosen such as being with Neil Armstrong and landing on the moon to witnessing the suffragette movement!
We also met for the monthly coffee morning at The Cosy Club to have a social catch up and chat. The Book Group discussed their January read of The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George which got mixed reviews but provided a good evening of discussion.
The Taunton Group goes from strength to strength and in 2016 we welcomed a number of new members and started a new group out at Minehead. The February evening meeting will be at the SW heritage Centre where we will be given a talk on rural Somerset.
NWR women are active, interested in everything and will talk about anything.
Please contact NWR on 0845 4500287 or go to www.nwr.org.uk, where you can find details of the Taunton group.
Anyone who is interested in NWR for the wider area outside of Taunton should contact the Taunton Local Organiser, via the details above, for further information as new groups are being established.
