A man has died at V Festival in Staffordshire
Police have released the name of a 22-year-old man who died at this year's V Festival.
The death of Timothy Brockhurst, who was found in a tent in an unresponsive state early on Sunday, is not suspicious, Staffordshire Police said.
Mr Brockhurst was from Stoke Heath, near Market Drayton in north Shropshire. He was pronounced dead at the V Festival's site in Weston Park, Staffordshire, at about 1am.
"Specially trained family liaison officers are working to support the family at this extremely difficult time. The cause of the death remains unknown and a post-mortem will take place early next week," a police spokesman said.
Security workers at the music event were alerted to the young man's condition and he was given emergency aid by a security guard and an on-site doctor but they were unable to revive him.
The immediate location was sealed off by police for forensic examination and statements were taken from Mr Brockhurst's friends.
Superintendent Pete Owen, of Staffordshire Police, said: "Organisers, emergency services and all those involved in the festival are saddened by Timothy's death, and our sympathies are with Timothy's family and friends at this time."
A V Festival spokesman said organisers wish to extend their deepest sympathies to Mr Brockhurst's family.
"Our team worked throughout the night to support those affected at the festival site and we want to thank everyone for their co-operation and support during the incident," the spokesman said.
