WHAT better time of year or way for all the family to explore Somerset's lovely countryside - and keep fit. Legs Explore is a special group of the Ramblers' Association offering adventures for children and parents and suitable for children of around three or more to Leg It.
The group's spring programme has nine walks on offer in eight weeks and copies are available from libraries in both the county and North Somerset.
The programme offers wide variety. Scenically hills with fine views, at Cothelstone, Burrington and the Bath skyline; exploring along waterways - sea, river and stream, looking for wild flowers including bluebells and an orchid hunt, and searching for wild animals with a National Trust Mammal Hunt, and a visit to a wildlife sanctuary to see wildlife babies. And included is a tour given by the farmer of his organic farm.
