THE A38 at Whiteball, near Wellington, was closed for four hours yesterday (Bank Holiday Monday) following a collision involving a car and a motorbike.
The two people on the bike were injured and taken to hospital after the incident at 11.50am near the Beam Bridge.
A police spokesman said a woman on the bike suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the Devon and Exeter Hospital.
A man who was also on the bike was taken to Musgrove Park, Hospital, in Taunton.
The road was re-opened at about 4pm.
Police have appealed for witnesses of the accident between a Saab car and a Kawasaki motorbike.
