STAFF at Taunton company W. J. Roadmarkings are promising to wear something yellow and raise money for St Margaret’s Hospice from October 6 to 12.

St Margaret’s is encouraging businesses, schools and residents to sign up to the campaign ‘Dare to care; Wear it yellow’.

Catherine Caple, of W J Roadmarkings (SW) Ltd, said: “We support the hospice every step of the way as, thanks to the amazing staff, it is a truly wonderful place for those who need somewhere where they can be peaceful, comfortable and perfectly looked after.”

The firm recently donated their services to re-mark the car park of the hospice in Taunton.

Local companies and schools are coming forward to pledge their support and there is still plenty of time for more to sign up.

Teresa Wort, from St Margaret’s, said: “We’re getting a really positive reaction to the campaign and there are some fantastic yellow-themed ideas coming through.”

Participants will be putting on something yellow ranging from whacky fancy dress outfits to adding an accent of yellow to their usual clothing.

Teresa added: “As far as we’re concerned, it’s the more the merrier as we try and turn the county yellow next month.

“We want as many people as possible to get involved and support Wear it Yellow.

“Everyone who signs up to wear yellow is asked to donate £1 by texting YELO11 £1 to 70070.

“All the money raised will go towards the provision of our services for local people with life limiting illnesses and their families.”

It costs around £10 million a year to run St Margaret’s, which provides specialist care to 3,200 patients a year through two inpatient units, hospice day centres and community hospice services supporting people in their own homes.
