ANN Summers mannequins were among the many weird and wonderful gifts offered to Avon and Somerset Police in 2014.

The force has published a list of over 150 gifts offered to them last year with details of who from and to, the price where possible and whether the items were accepted or declined.

As well as the mannequins there were also plenty of other quirky gifts including bottles of wine, chocolates, sausages and a teddy bear from German police officers.

There were boxes of chocolates, sweets and even eggs from members of the public as a small token of thanks and even bottles of champagne from the Home Office. Two signed Rod Stewart footballs were also given and accepted by the police.

Out of the 158 items, six were declined by the force.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Like all public bodies, the police has a framework in place to determine the boundaries of acceptability, regarding the receipt of gifts and hospitality and takes this extremely seriously.”

Gifts declined last year included two free tickets to the opening of a new nightclub in Yeovil and food and drink vouchers for Weatherspoons.
