A 22-year-old Burnham-On-Sea woman has won the Miss Somerset 2015 title and charity award.
Emily Sanders, 22, won the honour at the latest round of Miss England on May 29 and will hold the title for one year, before the search start to find the new Miss Somerset for 2016 Emily studied her degree in modern languages and history at the University of Exeter and she has also studied abroad in China and Japan. She is now a trainee teacher and she will complete her master’s degree in education from September, alongside her commitments.
She said: "The special recognition of my charity and voluntary work means so much to me. I really value this aspect to the Miss England competition, as it proves the competition is not about advocating a stereotypical image of beauty."
Emily hopes to use her new title and position in the Miss England competition to "advance causes that people care about in her local community".
