UPDATE: A 22-year-old woman has now been arrested after a six-month-old-boy was left with serious injuries following an alleged assault in Bridgwater.
A 28-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of grevious bodily harm and remains in police custody.
The child remains in a serious condition in Bristol Children's Hospital
A police spokesman said: “We have arrested a second person in connection with the assault of a six-month-old boy in Bridgwater.
“A 22-year-old woman was arrested this morning following the arrest of a 28-year-old man yesterday (18/11).
“Both were arrested on suspicion of GBH and are currently in custody helping us with our enquiries.
“The baby remains in a serious condition at Bristol Children’s Hospital.”
