AVON and Somerset Police are releasing footage and images of six men in connection with a Somerset drugs enquiry.

DCI Ray Hullin made a live appeal on BBC's Crimewatch this week in which he asked viewers who recognised the men to come forward with information.

It is believed the men, who were filmed in Yeovil and Weston- super-Mare may be from London.

So far, the investigation has jailed 19 men for a total of 53 years and four months.

It follows a nine month long investigation by police into the sale of Class A drugs in the county.

DCI Hulin said: “Communities across Somerset were concerned about the openness of drug dealing and the increase in associated crime and anti-social behaviour that came with it.

“We launched this investigation in December last year in response to those concerns and we have already had success in taking a number of drug dealers off the streets.

“However, our commitment to tackling the issue is constant and last night’s Crimewatch appeal was part of our efforts to identify six men who we still want to talk to in connection with our investigation.

“We’ve already had a number of names given to us by viewers who saw the programme and we’re looking into those but I’d still like anyone who thinks they might know who the men are to pick up the phone and call us."

Anyone who recognises any of the men is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police on the 24-hour police enquiry number 101 or alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
