IN March this year, your County Gazette launched the Somerset Camera Club.
Each week, we are sent dozens of pictures of our beautiful county from people who are either interested in photography, or just happened to come across a scene they thought deserved to be celebrated.
The free-to-join group, hosted on Facebook, was aimed at giving those people - and anyone with a love of Somerset - the chance to share their pictures with a wider audience, as well as enjoying and discussing the efforts of others.
And you have made it a resounding success.
More than 1,100 people have joined the group, sharing thousands of photographs, documenting everything in our county, from January frosts, to summer sun and autumnal colours.
Now, in association with Cooper Associates, we are now producing a special 2018 souvenir calendar, featuring pictures from club members, printed by Character Graphics.

In recent weeks, members have been choosing their favourite images and the final selections have been revealed.
County Gazette editor Paul Jones, who made the final selections, said: “I have been absolutely blown away by the success of the Somerset Camera Club and am delighted we are able to showcase just some of the fantastic pictures submitted, giving people the chance to enjoy our beautiful county as they plot their plans for 2018.
“A massive thank you to everyone who has taken part - I’m just sorry there are only 12 months of the year!”
