MOTORISTS are likely experience delays to their journey's as a weather warning of fog remains in place through the morning rush hour.

The Met Office's yellow weather warning for fog is set to remain in place until noon today (December 19).

A Met Office spokesman, said: "Fog is expected to form widely across southern and central England and some eastern parts of Wales on Monday evening, persisting overnight into Tuesday.

"Slower journey times are likely with delays possible to bus and train services.

"Some delays or cancellations to flights are also possible."

The chief forecaster said visibility could drop below 100 metres, most likely in low lying areas and valleys.

"Given the time of year only a slow improvement to conditions is expected on Tuesday morning though cloud arriving from the west may help lift the fog here," the spokesman said.

"Some patches of fog may persist in southern and eastern parts of England throughout the morning."
