A WEATHER warning for ice is in place across Somerset.
Yesterday’s rain followed by plunging temperatures has caused patches of ice to develop on untreated surfaces across the county.
The ‘yellow’ warning from the Met Office remains in place until 11am today and forecasters warn motorists, cycles and pedestrians to take care.

Patchy showers have washed away some grit and salt on a number of roads and patches of ice have also formed on foot paths.
The Met Office said on its website: “Icy patches are expected to develop on Wednesday night and Thursday morning on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, as well as where showers continue to fall washing off treatment. Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces are possible.”
