SOMERSET has been put on a yellow weather warning for the rest of today and through the weekend due to predicted rain.
Although it will start dry this evening, cloud and rain will quickly spread in from the South West.
The rain will be heavy and persistent at times, before easing later in the night, winimum temperature of 3 °C.
There will be further spells of rain tomorrow (Saturday), along with some sunnier spells and warmer temperatures than of late - it is likely to reach 13 °C.
Early rain on New Year's Eve will clear to some blustery showers and colder weather.
Showers will tend to ease during New Year's Day, before further wind and rain arrive on Tuesday.
The Met Office warns that bus and train services could be affected over the weekend, with spray and flooding on some roads making journey times longer.
Flooding of a few homes and businesses is also possible.
