MEMBERS of the Somerset Camera Club will gather for a meet-up/workshop this month.

The gathering, the first of club members, will take place at Watchet Harbour on Thursday, January 18.

Running between 7pm and 9pm, the event will be hosted by club member Mike Jefferies, gathering at the statue of Jankee Jack.

"This will be for anyone who wants have a go and learn some techniques of night photography," Mike said.

"It should be low tide, so the boats in the harbour should be resting on the floor to make it easier or longer exposures.

"Tripods will be a great help on the night."

County Gazette editor, Paul Jones, said: "Since it formed in March last year, I have been staggered by the enthusiasm for the group from the people of Somerset.

"Not only that, but the talent on show is startling, with some truly amazing pictures of our county being posted daily.

"I can't thank everyone enough for their efforts and dedication to the group and to Mike - an outstanding photographer - for arranging such a worthwhile event for members."
