SOMERSET is set for a mostly dry day with some rain due later on ahead of a wet and windy Wednesday.

In its South West summary, Met Office said: "After a bright and chilly start for many cloud will thicken through the morning as patchy rain arrives from the southwest, reaching all parts by evening.

"Low cloud and coastal fog will also develop across many parts through the afternoon."

The maximum temperature is set to reach around 10C, before falling to a minimum of 6C overnight.

Tomorrow's forecast said: "Locally heavy rain quickly clears to leave a chilly, windy day with sunny spells and scattered blustery showers. The showers possibly heavy with hail at times."

The temperature is set to peak at around 9C.
