AN investigation has been launched after a woman died in Lyngford Park.
Police were called at 8am today (February 18) to the park on Lyngford Road in Taunton after concerns were raised about the welfare of a woman.
Officers put a police cordon in place after the woman was received treatment at the scene but she had sadly already died.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said her death is being treated as 'unexplained'.
"We were called to reports of a woman who was unwell at about 8am this morning in Lyngford Park," the spokesman said.
"A police cordon was put in place while she received treatment at the scene but sadly she died shortly afterwards.
"Her death is being treated as unexplained."
Police officers, detectives and scientific investigators are at the scene in Lyngford Park.
A number of police cars and scientific investigation vans are also present and an area of Lynford Park has been taped off.
