Somerset Business Awards launch event - enter now!
3:10pm Friday 15th June 2012 in Somerset
THE Somerset Business Awards 2012 were launched on Tuesday at Lyngford House in Taunton.
Now established in the county business calendar, the County Gazette-backed awards celebrate success and diversity among Somerset businesses.
They are sponsored by businesses including South-West accountancy, tax and business advisory firm Albert Goodman.
Rupert Cox, Somerset Chamber of Commerce president, said: “The awards give businesses a chance to showcase excellence, and last year firms proved they’re keen to get involved and have their achievements recognised. We had an impressive number of entries last year and I hope we get even more this time.”
David Griffin, managing partner with Albert Goodman, said: “The awards are increasingly popular and it’s a delight to be able to support the work Rupert does. We feel it’s particularly relevant for us as a long established firm of financial advisors to help encourage entrepreneurial businesses.”
Jeremy Minchin, of Hippy Chick, 2011’s Business of the Year in the 5-50 employees category, said: “Entering and winning was fantastic in lots of ways. The awards process was a really good stimulus for looking at our business critically.
“It really makes you appreciate your strengths and recognise your weaknesses.
“We’ve become a better business as a result of winning and would recommend the awards to anybody.”
Businesses can enter more than one category and entries must be in by 5pm on August 31.
