A WELLINGTON-based dementia awareness charity has been continuing its work to bring the community together.
Reminiscence Learning led carol singing sessions with schools and care homes across Taunton and Wellington to get into the Christmas spirit.
Everyone involved is part of the Archie Project, which hopes to make links between the community to raise awareness of dementia.
Children from Year 4 at St Andrew's School, which started the Archie Project in September, all enjoyed a Christmas themed visit to the residents at Kilkenny Court and were really excited to be joined by Mayor of Taunton Deane, Councillor Vivienne Stock-Williams, the Ven Simon Hill, Archdeacon of Taunton and Ian Ramus, President of Taunton Rotary, who are funding the project.
There was carol singing, impromptu dancing and lots of Christmas jokes as well as the presentation of hampers and cards from the school to their new friends at Kilkenny.
Emma Green, manager, said: "It was a lovely morning – both St Andrew's school and Kilkenny Court have really embraced the project and are looking forward to further developing the links with lots of exciting things planned for the new year."
