A CAMPSITE on the outskirts of Taunton is celebrating after reaching its 10-year anniversary.

Greenacres Touring Park, Haywards Lane, Chelston, marked a decade in business on Saturday, April 1.

Owners, Linda and David Fry say that their passion for camping keeps them successful.

Mrs Fry said: “We’ve got a passion for it, and it keeps us fit.

“We both had different jobs before we started this 10 years ago.

“It’s lovely when you see people coming back and enjoying themselves.

“It’s wonderful to still be going, we’re very proud.

“We are hoping to keep going to at least our 20 year mark.

“We really love what we are doing.”

The pair moved from Wiltshire to Somerset because they couldn’t think of a better location to start their business.

Wellington is such a lovely town,” Mrs Fry said.

“And the people of Somerset are so lovely.

“We’re in a great location if anyone wants to go to the beach, you can drive for around 40 minutes and get to the coast.”

One of Mrs Fry’s favourite things about the park is the rose garden.

The park is filled with plants and flowers throughout the grounds.

Another thing that keeps them going is their five-star rating from Quality in Tourism Visit England.

They went from a four-star rating to five in September last year.

The touring park is an adults only site which is part of the Tranquil Park Group.

The group consists of 39 hand-chosen parks that are exclusively for adults.

Mrs Fry added: “We’ve had to work very hard to get that five-star rating.

“We found that there is quite a demand for adult-only parks, it could be people like teachers and doctors that just want to relax - and we don’t charge for people to bring up to three dogs.

“You’re vetted very thoroughly to become part of Tranquil Parks.”
