AN election has been called for a new town councillor in Wellington.
Notice was given of the casual vacancy for the North Ward of Wellington Town Council.
The election is now set to take place on June 8 if contested.
Nominations are now open and papers must be delivered to the returning officer at The Deane House on Belvedere Road in Taunton no later than 4pm on Thursday May 11.
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Deane House, Belvedere Road, TAUNTON, TA1 1HE by 5pm on Tuesday, 23rd May 2017.

Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Deane House, Belvedere Road, TAUNTON, TA1 1HE by 5pm on Wednesday, 31st May 2017.
Applications to vote by proxy at this election applied for on grounds of physical incapacity, where that physical incapacity occurred after 5pm on Wednesday, 31st May 2017, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Deane House, Belvedere Road, TAUNTON, TA1 1HE by 5pm on Thursday, 8th June 2017.
