THE Mount Veterinary Hospital is getting ready to open its doors.

The vet practice previously operated from Wellington’s High Street, but will be moving to a bespoke hospital on Taunton Road on March 22.

Charlotte Freeman, vet, said: “Every aspect of our new hospital has been designed and built to deliver what we believe is the best possible veterinary care for pets. The newly equipped, bright and modern building includes the latest available treatment facilities allowing animals and their owners to visit in a calm and professional atmosphere.

“Mount Vets has a knowledgeable and experienced veterinary team supported by qualified veterinary nurses who are on site 24 hours a day. Each vet at Mount Vets has a particular area of interest and we have expertise in veterinary ophthalmology, small animal surgery, small animal medicine and veterinary dentistry.

“We have increased the number of consultation rooms from 3 rooms to 4 and now have a more spacious waiting room and reception allowing cats and dogs to sit in separate waiting areas. Cats prefer not to see large, panting dogs when waiting for their appointment.

“We have tripled the number of cat and dog kennels and increased our number of large walk-in kennels allowing more space for hospitalised patients.”

The hospital is hosting two preview tour days. The first one is for members of the pet health club on Saturday, March 10, from 10am until 4 pm.

A second tour day on Saturday, March 17, again from 10am until 4 pm is being held for the public, like an open house.”

Ms Freeman added: “On this day all clients are welcome, prospective clients are welcome or even if people who don’t have a pet but are interested in seeing our facilities are more than welcome to come and have look around.”
