Bathpool crash victim thought to have suffered heart attack

AN 85-year-old man who died in his car is thought to have had a heart attack.

Jack William Payton’s VW Golf swerved across the road before ploughing through bushes and down an embankment.

No other vehicles were involved.

An inquest opened and adjourned into the death of Mr Payton, of St Mary’s Close, Cossington, heard that he died of natural causes.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident on the A38 at Bathpool at 5.30pm last Wednesday (October 17) to call their collision investigation unit on 101.
