TAUNTON School student Charlie Hutton-Pattemore received the red carpet treatment - and picked up a BAFTA from Harry Potter and Hollyoaks actress Anna Shaffer.
His award at the BAFTA Young Game Designers event was for his Vacuum Panic (aka Suck It) and gives him the chance to work with experts from the University of Abertay Dundee as well as visiting SCE London Studio, makers of the EyeToy and SingStar franchises.
On receiving his award, Charlie said: “I really enjoyed working on this game idea and it's a dream come true to win.
“It's amazing I have the opportunity to have the game developed, I'm really pleased that I entered.”
Anna Shaffer said: “I was amazed by the quality of entries this year, but Vacuum Panic really stood out and I think Charlie will go far.
“I wish I'd had the opportunity to enter something like this when I was younger.”
