Dozens suffer accidents at work in Taunton Deane and West Somerset
DOZENS of people in Taunton Deane and West Somerset suffered major injuries at work, Health and Safety Executive figures reveal.
In 2011-12, major injury incidents were up from 46 to 48 in Taunton Deane, compared to 2010-11, and West Somerset saw an increase from 13 to 17.
Figures for employees taking more than three days off work due to injury were down from 230 to 185 in Taunton Deane, but up from 39 to 56 in West Somerset.
There was one fatality across the whole region in the workplace.
