RESIDENTS in Cotford St Luke are being warned to expect further power cuts tomorrow (January 15) following a six-hour black out in the village on Saturday night.

Western Power Distribution has delivered letters to homes in the village, identifying the problem as an 'emergency switchgear fault' and warning homeowners to brace themselves for more interruptions in their power supply between 9am and 5pm while works to remedy the fault as carried out.

The letter ends by reassuring residents that everything is being done to restore power fully as quickly as possible.

Power first went out in the village around 6pm on Saturday and was not restored until after midnight. A Western Power Distribution generator has been set up in Graham Way next to an open ditch where the underground works are thought to be centred.

Anyone with concerns should call Western Power Distribution's 24-hour emergency contact number for the south west on 0800 365 900.
