PETER Lewis has been appointed as interim director of children’s services at Somerset County Council from mid-April.
Mr Lewis, who currently holds a similar post with Knowsley Council on Merseyside, replaces John Kirby, lead commissioner for children and learning, who is stepping down after 30 years.
