FIRE crews and an RSPCA officer used a cherry-picker to rescue a stricken seagull that had become tangled in pigeon netting on top of a Taunton shop.
The bird had become stuck in the nylon mesh on the roof of a vacant building in High Street, opposite the Job Centre, this afternoon (February 18).
It was eventually cut free from the net and returned to the ground, where an RSPCA officer from the West Hatch Wildlife Centre near Taunton checked the animal for injuries before allowing it to fly away.
