THIS vibrant garden was the winner of a competition for Taunton Deane Council tenants in the Halcon area.
The competition was open to everybody living in Lane, Lambrook and Halcon, and was organised by the Halcon One Team that brings agencies and residents together to improve life in the area.
There were 20 entrants and the winners and runners-up were: 1 Mr and Mrs Fowler, who received £150; 2 Mr and Mrs Hellard, £100 prize; 3 Hayley and Roger Brauer, £50 prize; 4 Mr Venton, £25 prize.
Estates officer Lucy Hawkins, who helped organise the competition, praised the standard of entries, adding: “It was lovely to come and look at the very best gardens in the area rather than having to inspect poorly kept gardens.
“All the entries were a credit to the residents and shows that people take a great pride in their surroundings.
“Thanks must go to the judges and to Monkton Elm for sponsorship and the Tool Shed for donating garden tools.”
