THERE were first birthday celebrations in Taunton High Street on Saturday for a street market that has grown beyond organisers’ wildest dreams.
It has increased from just four stalls in September 2014 to 54 in a year – and there are hopes that it will keep on getting bigger.
Hundreds of people joined in the party atmosphere and £500 was raised for the Joni-Mai charity launched in support of a young girl from Hornchurch battling a rare form of bone cancer.
Lucinda Ackland, of TIME for UK Ltd, which runs the markets, said: “A great day was had by all and we look forward to another year of growth on the High Street.”
