OVER £2,000 was donated to the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment charity over the past week.
The cash will help the County Gazette-backed SURE equip the Beacon Centre at Taunton’s Musgrove Park Hospital.
The largest donation was £1,660.06 from a Blackdown Sea Angling Group competition event at Blue Anchor Bay, who also collected £18.05 in loose change.
Among the money were collections of 5p coins from Wellington Aqua Social Group (£77); £1.65 from Trevor Warner; and £51 from Joan Greedy and the Wellesley Club, in Cheddon Road, Taunton; South Somerset Choral Society handed over £49.05, including £43.45 in 5ps, while collection pots raised £2.02 at Staplegrove Hairdressers, £13.79 at the Post Office Stores, Staplegrove, £13.60 at the Premier Petrol Station, Cross Keys, and £9.27 from the collection pot and £117.60, of which £96.50 was in 5ps, from the Minster Pharmacy, Ilminster, Other donations were £85 from The Woman's Fellowship Group, of Ilminster Methodist Church; £80 from Alcombe Methodist Church; and £111.35 from the Beacon Centre, which included £104.65 in 5ps.
The week’s total of £2,297.44 means £49, 861.98 has now been raised since SURE linked up with the County Gazette.
