A TALENTED Taunton student is hoping for success in the music industry after recording her first song.
Molly Gould, a first-year student at Richard Huish College, is eager to catch the attention of local people in the industry, who she has sent copies of her song Climbing Trees.
It is about the five years she spent at Chilton Trinity School in Bridgwater.
Molly recently shone in front of thousands of spectators during the two-week run of the Bridgwater Carnival Concerts and triumphed in a Bridgwater schools Battle of the Bands contest in July.
Perhaps surprisingly, Molly, 16, does not study music at Richard Huish – instead she is studying classical civilisation, psychology, early modern history and English literature.
She said: “I believe that if I want to make it, it’s something I have to work hard at outside of college.”
Asked if she would ever audition for the X Factor, Molly said: “I’m sort of against shows like that.
“I think if you’re going to be successful, you should have to really work for it and I think shows like X Factor and The Voice make it too easy.”
Molly will be taking part in the ceremony for the Bridgwater Christmas lights switch-on.
