A WOMAN died after being hit by a train just outside Taunton at 11pm last Friday.
British Transport Police officers were called to Broomhay crossing at Bathpool following reports that a person had been struck.
A BTP spokesman said: “Colleagues from Avon and Somerset Police and South Western Ambulance Service also attended, but a 47-year-old woman from Taunton was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious, but the woman’s family has been informed.
“We will prepare a file for the coroner.”
