THE third and final section of a new bridge over the River Tone and the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal in Taunton was lifted into place this week.
The two end beams were joined together by the central section.
The structure is part of the £22million Northern Inner Distributor Road currently under construction between Staplegrove Road and Priory Avenue.
The NIDR, which will take traffic away from Priorswood Road and Greenway Road and open up development at the currently derelict Firepool, should be operational by next summer.
