TAUNTON Deane MP Jeremy Browne officially opened Musgrove Park Hospital’s Jubilee Building and hailed the facilities as “remarkable”.
Mr Browne, who will not be standing for re-election at this year’s General Election, said: "During my decade as the MP for Taunton Deane there have been remarkable new developments at Musgrove Park.
“The Beacon Centre transformed cancer treatment for Taunton Deane residents. The helicopter pad has also made a difference to patients needing emergency attention.
"Now the Jubilee Building has been built for surgical patients. The quality of the facilities is remarkable. It is such a dramatic improvement on the previous provision.
"The next steps will be to continue to replace the old buildings which are well beyond their sell-by date. That obviously has financial implications and will have to be done one step at a time."
Mr Browne was joined by Rachel Gilmour, who is the LibDem Parliamentary Candidate for Taunton Deane.
