TAUNTON School is staging a special event on Wednesday to help prepare local students for university.
The evening, which is open to students from other schools and their parents, will explore the university application process.
Head of Sixth Form, Mike Cook, and Head of Careers, Richard Judd, will explain the support on offer aided by Daniel Rowe from Plymouth University who will give a short presentation about how to approach the issue of choosing the right course/institution.
There will be the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation or individually once the main event finishes.
Mr Cook said: “Important decisions lie ahead for these young people and they have to make them alongside the challenges of academic study at Sixth Form level.
“It is important that they, and their parents, enter this period of their lives fully informed and with their eyes open.”
“We hope that parents of Year 11 and year 12 students will be able to join us for this event which begins at 7pm in the Arts Centre and should last for about an hour.”
