STAFF at a farm shop in Somerset are hosting a Purple Day in aid of one of its charities of the year.

Members of the team at Rumwell Farm Shop will be dressing in purple and doing a variety of fundraisers on Saturday, March 7 to raise money for bibic. Anne Mitchell, Co-Owner of the farm shop, said: “As purple is the colour of the bibic logo we decided we would host a Purple Day in its honour.

“As well as being kitted out in the colour and having the shop decorated with purple balloons we will also be raffling off one of our luxury hampers.

“Furthermore there will be a range of tastings on offer during the day from our tasty sausages to our jams and marmalades. Proceeds from certain purple products sold during the day, such as blackcurrant bon bons, purple plants and our damson jam will go to the charity.

“People will also be able to have a go at guessing the amount of sweets in a jar for 50p a go. The correct guess will take home the jar of goodies.”

bibic helps children and young people aged from six months to 18-years-old with conditions affecting their development and learning abilities to achieve their potential for a happier and more fulfilled life.

Mark Flower, Corporate and Community Fundraising Officer for bibic, said: “We’re excited that Rumwell will be hosting a Purple Day in aid of us.

"It will be a great way for people to find out more about what we do and also raise some much needed funds.”
