ARE you a budding cricketer who fancies testing your bowling skills against one of the best batsmen in the country?

Well, there's a chance to turn your arm over against Somerset captain and former England star Marcus Trescothick.

He'll be padding up in a net on the grassed area on Castle Green, Taunton, on Saturday, April 18.

Somerset County Cricket Club are taking over the patch to bring you Cricket on the Green from 10am to 4pm.

You'll be able to practice your skills, while members of the club's commercial team and the club mascot Stumpy will be on hand with giveaways, competitions and prizes.

Marcus Trescothick will be there between 10am and 12noon to face you in the nets, sign autographs, pose for pictures and offer advice to budding cricketers.

As well as the cricket-based entertainment, members of our catering team will be using the event as a recruitment drive, so if you are looking for a summer job make sure you go along on Saturday.

The Blackdown Hills Market will also be operating on the day.
