A MUM from Somerset has won a series of accolades for her new business venture – a gym aimed at parents and their children.

Zoe-Lisa Blackler, whose family lives in Kingston St Mary, won a National Business Recognition Award for Gym and Junior.

The prize came hot on the heels of a commendation from former Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis and a place in the Cardiff Life Awards.

“It’s so rewarding for us as a team,” said Zoe.

“To have recognition of all our hard work, and of the unique ethos behind our gym – affordable, family-focused exercise aimed at new mums and dads and pregnant ladies in particular – provides us with a sound platform on which to expand, especially as we are now receiving franchise enquiries for Gym and Junior.”

Gym and Junior was officially opened in Cardiff, in November last year and the latest award, for Best New Business/Start-up 2015 in the UK, was presented to Zoe at a ceremony in Birmingham, organised by Networking Mummies.

Judges included Ann Summers boss, Jacqueline Gold, and media personality Janey Lee Grace.
