LUCKY pupils at Wellsprings Schools have a new long jump pit thanks to the PE Legacy Funding.
The funding is thanks to the legacy of the Olympics which has been given to schools over the past two years.
Teacher Nick White said: "The pit has allowed us to broaden our children's athletics opportunities as they use it not only for running long jump and standing long jump but also shot putt too as it provides a softer landing for the shots."
The pit was built in the autumn but the children have patiently been waiting for the weather to warm up and dry to use it.
Nick added: "The children have really enjoyed using it so far and some great jumps have been recorded."
