A MAN suffered "serious arm injuries" in an early hours assault.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident in Station Road, Taunton, at 12.35am yesterday, Saturday, May 16.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "Some members of the public stopped to help the man.
"We are keen to speak to them and anyone else who was in the area at the time who might have useful information to assist our enquiries."
Officers and forensic experts were gathering evidence from the scene, between the district council offices and the former cinema into the morning.
Detectives are also studying CCTV footage handed over by Pizza Hut.
