TRAVELLERS have returned to Taunton this time occupying land at Stoney Furlong near Lyngford Park School.

They moved on to the area last Friday, much to residents’ dismay.

One parent told the Gazette: “This is a real shame and an eyesore on our park.

“My sons like to go out and play but I am refusing to let them go there.

“There should be removable bollards put around all green spaces.”

A spokesperson for Taunton Deane Council said it was aware of a small group of travellers on the land.

The spokesperson said: “Officers have visited the site and have served initial notices requesting the group to leave.

The site will be checked again and, if they have not left, a further more formal notice will be served.
