A CHILDREN’S Festival will be taking place at the Castle Green and Goodlands Garden next Wednesday (July 29) in support of a charity. and we have great vouchers to give away.

The free festival is to help support Stand Against Violence - a Taunton charity - which has just launched its Wish upon a Star Campaign.

The charity wants to get 2,000 stars decorated by children, the stars represent a lost loved one and will be displayed alongside stars designed by businesses in a maze on the Castle Green.

It is part of the 10th anniversary events, commemorating the tragic death of Taunton teenager Lloyd Fouracre.

The events will culminate with the star display on September 25 and children are being encouraged to go along and decorate their star at the Go Create Stand as part of the activities at this year’s Children’s Festival.

The fun begins at 10am, finishing at 3.30pm. There’s a chance for children to take part in some circus workshops and activities including juggling, Diablo, plate spinning, devil sticks, stilts and much more.

There will be stalls, circus activities, face painting, music, photo booth, rides, bouncy castle and food.

Children have a chance to visit the Museum of Somerset where young and old are currently being welcoming to see the ‘Brick Wonders’ – Wonders of the World made out of Lego bricks.
