Volunteers plant 15 trees in community orchard
MORE than 100 people helped plant 15 trees at Frieze Hill Community Orchard, Taunton, on Sunday, November 22.
The trees were donated by family and friends in memory of someone special or to celebrate a new life.
Community Orchard chairman Margaret Gibson said: "It's a special place for many people in this community.
"So many people came to plant yet more trees in celebration of local people - there were people of all ages, including several people who have valiantly driven over the field in their mobility scooters to reach the site."
More than 120 trees have been planted in the orchard, which is adjacent to Turner's Allotments opposite Taunton School, since 2004, with 75% of them donated by local people.
