DON'T forget Somerfest is happening today (Saturday, June 18), and there is lots to see and do in Taunton.

There are various activities, entertainment, crafts and stalls in Castle Green, Goodland Gardens, Fore Street and the town is already looking busy.

In Goodland Gardens there are special gymnastics ropes set up for the children to try out (supervised of course!) a mini-beach is in place ready for sandcastle building and there is plenty of food and events on with Somerset Wildlife Trust, SCAT and Little Van Rouge all with stalls set up there.

Across to Castle Green and a Punch and Judy show was enthralling the youngsters, a fencing class is taking place and there is a carousel and maypole as well as some appetizing food stalls. Oh and it is definitely worth checking out Knight School by the castle for the youngsters!

Street entertainers occupy the High Street, the cast of the Made in Dagenham Musical performed some of the songs from the show coming to the Tachi-Morris Arts Centre next month and there are a number of charity stalls raising awareness of good causes.

Fore Street features crafts stalls, trampolines, some fairground rides and a selection of delicious pies, cheeses, meats and more, plus there is a petting zoo in the Orchard Shopping Centre.

So as you can see there is plenty worth checking out in town today, with much more entertainment running throughout the day.
