POLICE officers were called to Wellsprings Leisure Centre during the EU Referendum vote after a group of men allegedly behaved in a threatening manner towards Vote Remain campaigners.
Officers were called during at around 4am following reports of an incident, when a group of men allegedly became abusive to campaigners from Vote Remain.
It is not yet known what happened, but it is believed officers were called to the leisure centre after a group of men became rowdy during the count.
Speaking shortly after the count, which showed that Taunton Deane had voted to Leave the EU, Ms Pow said: "The police were called earlier after a bit of unpleasantness from some factions of supporters."
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called to Wellsprings Leisure Centre at around 3.30am to deal with a concern over a potential disturbance.
"Following several officers attending, there were no complaints and no offences were commited.
"We were called mainly to provide a presence."
